Our admin gal has decided a change is needed so we are looking for a new team member to start ASAP.

The direction of the business has changed, and so has the role, so here is what we are looking for:

First and foremost its our front office role so you need to be well presented, have great people skills and be a general ‘all-rounder’. You need to be a “protector of time’ or ‘gatekeeper’ for the boss so as to minimise interruption to him in the servicing room at certain times, and also tell him where he needs to be, when and what for – so being a self-starter, with a ton of initiative to find answers yourself and manage his diary is the ideal. You will need to lift tanks, so need a bit of strength and not be afraid of hard work – some days get craaaazy!.

We use MYOB and will soon have a new operational system that tacks on to it to manage our jobs, quoting, CRM and retail sales so you need to be familiar with MYOB and able to pick up new systems quickly. We also need someone proficient in the MS Office suite of products. Experience with WordPress, and managing social media also an advantage

As well as keeping the office ticking over (under our guidance), you will be checking in our customers gear for servicing, filling tanks, selling retail products and doing hydrostatic testing. You will also be doing all the follow-ups on prior servicing work for the annual/biannual re-testing, as well as getting on the phone and cold-calling looking for new work in our other business areas – we are not just scuba!

We have moved into retail of scuba products for some specific brands which we are the sole Queensland retailer of, XDeep and Tecline, as well as some other scuba products so you need to be willing to learn about all our products so you can be of assistance to our customers in the purchase decisions.

We are also moving back into doing scuba courses so ideally you are an instructor, DM, or have that goal as your end game. You need to be an experienced scuba diver at the very least so that you can knowledgeably assist our scuba diving customers – I could also suggest here liking beer will help you with our CO2 customers! We need someone who is organised and able to set up and schedule/manage our courses – even if you are not able to actually run them yet.

Is this you, or someone you know?

You must be in Brisbane, and able to work in Australia right now. We are looking for full-time – with at least a couple of early starts (7am) each week and Saturdays. Ideally one person for the role but we are open to a job-share type scenario too with two part-timers who between them have the required skills as long as they are both a good ‘fit’ for our company and our desired hours get covered.

So, ideally, we need a scuba instructor or at least DM or experienced diver with a desire to go pro, office admin all-rounder who can sell ice to an eskimo, keep a reign on the boss and tell him where to go, and ideally can already fill tanks and do hydros but if not is willing to jump in and learn, who also has an interest in learning further servicing skills.
